I have had this Southern Gospel song going through my head all night (mom probably knows it), but all I know is two words. Well, really one, but it repeats. "Excuses, excuses!" The tune to these two words just repeats over and over.
So these are my two excuses for not posting these past two weeks:
1. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to upload the pictures from my camera to the computer. I did it once, and now I can't do it again. Once I finally figure it out, I will have 200+ pictures to weed through and decide which ones to post.
2. We just got back from IN. We were staying with my mom for a week. Sadly, my gramma passed away last Tuesday morning. We were at my mom's for the funeral. It's a funny thing about funerals: I will miss my gramma, but I am so happy for her right now. Plus I had FUN! Well, not at the actual funeral, but with my family this week.
So those are my excuses. Hopefully I will figure out the uploading soon and have some new pictures soon!

"WORDS"
Miss Evalie talks, alot. There are not a whole lot of things that she says that we understand. But a few words she says are Uh-Oh, Meow, Arf Arf, and A-Beek (peek-a-boo).
Because we don't always understand her language, we have been teaching Evalie sign language. Evie has been using sign since she was about 9 months old, and she has a great sign vocabulary. It seems like she learns a new sign every couple of days now.
Some words that she signs are Eat, More, Momma Milk, Water, Up, Down, Help, Please, and Flower. There are a few more, but I can't think of them all right now.
A few months ago, Evalie developed a common toddler trait of grunting or whining for something that she wanted. I didn't really like that trait and would tell Evalie to use her words. I also used the sign for words. Now Evie signs "words" when I ask her to use her words.
The past couple of days, I have been listening closely to Miss Evie to see what else she says. I have heard her say Meh (momma milk), Moh (more), Play, and Bye.
I know in the next few months, Evie will keep learning new signs and new words. I can't wait to hear what else she has to say!

Pictures From the Traumatic Day
These pictures were taken on the day Evie fell and hit her head. She was such a trooper. Even helping to put "ice" (frozen peas) on her head. She was in good spirits through it all. Even though I am SURE she had a pretty bad headache!
As of today, 12 days later, the bruise is still there but faintly. The bruising did go down to in between her eyes, so Evalie looked pretty banged up for a while. But she is doing much better now!
