Blue Eyes (And Black Too)

Miss Evalie is crawling all over the house now. She is very curious and getting into EVERYTHING! I love her adventurous spirit, but it is stressing me out. I am so worried that she is going to get hurt.

And for good reason. Already she has had two scrapes, one on her arm and one on her cheek. And Miss Evalie has had her first black eye.

Evie's favorite thing to do is get into our Entertainment Center cabinet. She opens and closes the door, and then she empties it out. A few days ago, Evalie was happily emptying the cabinet of all our DVDs when I heard a very loud crash followed by the loudest scream I have ever heard come from my baby girl. She was trying to stand up and had fallen into the cabinet and hit her eye! So scary for me and for her!

Thankfully she calmed down quickly. I tried to get some ice on her eye to reduce swelling, but if you have ever tried to put ice on a curious, mobile 8 month old, you know it's not too easy!

I guess I have to be more careful of what I let her play with. And I also have to realize that bumps and scrapes and bruises are a part of growing up!

Sick Baby

Miss Evalie is not feeling well. We are pretty sure it's just teething issues. But it makes for one miserable baby. Cuddling with Daddy makes it a little better!

Happy Mother's Day!

Me and my baby girl at our Mother Daughter type banquety thing at church. I loved being a momma this year on Mother's Day. Last year was fun knowing that I was momma, but it was so much better being able to love on my princess this year!
Alex helped out at the banquety type thing at church. He was a spectacular help!

I am in big trouble. T R O U B L E !!! Since Evalie is crawling now she is getting in to everything. My wonderful, curious, nosey baby girl! She tried to unroll the whole roll of TP while I was in the shower. I got to snap this picture before saving the rest of the roll!

Friends

Evalie has made a few new friends. One of her good friends is Addy. We go to the zoo and hang out with Addy and her mama and her brother alot. Evie and Addy were posing by the elephant exhibit at the zoo last Tuesday.
Evalie met Abby for the first time on Thursday. I know Abby and her family through a job that I do once a week. Abby liked playing with Evalie, and Evalie like pulling Abby's hair and taking off her glasses. Check out Evie's dirty feet!

Playing Ball with Daddy

We have been enjoying the spring weather the past few weeks, playing a lot outside. Last week, Daddy and Evie played ball in the backyard. Evie got so excited each time the ball came close to her. Very cute.
We always said we would have a girly tomboy. It looks like Evalie is starting off that way playing catch with her daddy in a dress! Trying to take the ball from Daddy.
She loved it!
She couldn't quite throw it yet, although it looked like she was going to try. We have plenty of time to work on catching and throwing!

The Great Pie Wars

For a Vacation Bible School fundraiser, Alex and I had a Great Pie War. We challenged our church to fill up either mine or Alex's jar with change (or bills!). Whoever had the most money at the end of four weeks got to put a pie in the other person's face.

Evalie and Momma Pictures

Yes, once again, I am late posting. I didn't have any pictures from the week. This morning I took Evalie to get her pictures taken (I had a coupon for a free print!). So you get to see the pictures that they e-mailed me. The ones with me aren't that great, but Evalie is adorable, as always!

You will be happy to know that Evalie started crawling this week. It's hard to get pictures of her crawling, but I will try to get some!
